10 steps of the home buying process (step 7/10 Get a home inspection)

Step 7- Get a home inspection

As your Realtor I don’t care if you are buying new construction, single family home, town home or a condo.  Have a home inspection.  You just don’t know what you are buying until you have a professional inspector look at it.  Not only with that home inspector be looking for problems they will also show you how the home works.  Example- where are the shut off valves for the gas and water, general maintenance tips and any other questions you may have.

Bottom line this is one of the safe guard to allow you out of the purchase of the home if you find something that is a major issue.  the best advice I can give you is hire a credited home inspector.  They are professionals with a lot of experience and they know where and what to look for.  Don’t have dad do it!  Have him come and look things over but hire a professional to do the job.  You will be happy you did.

  1. I would not let a buyer I am working for purchase a home without a whole house inspection.
